EcoActive has been presenting a learn to swim programme to 4 primary schools, Capricorn, Levana, Zerilda and Hillwood since 2017 and started introducing the programmes to high schools in 2018. We are currently in 3 high schools Lavender Hill, Sibelius and Cafda School of Skills. Our mission is to keep all children safe around water by presenting water safety talks and learn to swim programmes and imparting life skills through the discipline of sports.
We have introduced aquatic as a summer code at the primary schools and host galas to sharpen their skills, build confidence, and most importantly to have fun.
Our team of coaches trained all the schools on different days of the week. We provide transport and costumes for all the learners in the programme.
This is an after-school activity, the aim of the Friday swimming is to sharpen their swimming skills and to introduce the youth to various activities such as lifesaving, water polo, triathlons, surfing, snorkeling. We also aim to provide academic support for the kids in the programme.
Being part of Friday’s squad gives them access to our holiday programmes and the end of year camp to the older ones’ guidance to help choose careers paths through various programmes.
It is here where we hope that youth in our programme will learn vital skills to be positive role models in their communities through our Play -Learn – Educate slogan.
